這是迪士尼1983年的動畫【Mickey's Christmas Carol】的主題曲，是一首相當
溫馨迷人的聖誕頌歌，歌詞和音樂都非常優美。這部動畫改編自狄更斯的名著《小
氣財神》(A Christmas Carol)，由迪士尼許多可愛的角色串場擔綱演出，是我心
目中每年聖誕節必溫習的一部經典...

歌詞中有兩個典故值得一提：

1. Jack Frost 是西方民間傳說裡冬天的精靈，人們認為冬季天寒地凍的天氣就是
由它帶來的。當你鼻頭和手指凍傷時，就是 Jack Frost 搞的鬼 (也就是英語中
"Jack Frost nipping" 一詞的由來)。冬季窗戶玻璃上冰凍結霜造成的蕨葉狀花紋，
也被認為是 Jack Frost 留下的痕跡。它可以說是冬天擬人化的具體形象。以上的
歌詞翻譯裡，我僅簡單地意譯成「冬霜」。

2. Yuletide 是古時候日耳曼民族冬季時的慶典，和冬至相關，大約在十二月底至
一月初這段期間。雖然它來源自非基督教文化，但因為時間和意義與基督教的聖誕
節類似，所以在基督教向西、北歐傳播的過程中被基督教文化逐漸融合保存下來。
Yuletide spirits 這個詞賦予讀者一種古老聖誕/冬季節慶精神的感覺，所以我僅意
譯成「冬靈」。
